Armstrong built a wide range of bicycles, from lightweight path racers to upright, 50 lb town bikes. The Sovereign was one of their 'sports' models, and benefitted from quality tubing and fittings. Set up as a five speed racer from the factory, this would suit a similar build now, but would be equally well suited to a more upright, laid back style, with wider tyres and mudguards.
